Anthony Robin Schneider is a bass from Austria and New Zealand. He is a graduate of the University of Auckland, the Academy of Vocal Arts, and the Houston Grand Opera Studio.

In the coming year, Anthony joins the Ensemble at Oper Frankfurt to sing The Voice in Idomeneo, Administrator/Sergeant in Lady Macbeth from Mtsensk, The Grand Inquisitor/Monk in Don Carlo, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, and Commendatore in Don Giovanni. He will be returning to Houston Grand Opera to sing Sarastro/Sprecher in Die Zauberflöte and the 1st Nazarene in Salome.

During the 2018-19 season, Anthony made debuts at the Wiener Staatsoper (Ghost of Hector, Les Troyens), the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (Beethoven’s 9th Symphony), the Cleveland Orchestra (Truffaldino, Ariadne auf Naxos) and Oper Frankfurt (Der Wirt, Der Ferne Klang and Don Bartolo, Le nozze di Figaro). He also performed at the Wolf Trap Opera twice – in February 2019 as Duc Hoël in Frank Martin’s Le vin herbé (in a collaboration with Washington Concert Opera), and in June of the same year as Der Tod in Ullman’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis.

Anthony is a 2018-2019 Sullivan Foundation Award Winner, and the proud recipient of a Kiri te Kanawa Foundation Scholarship.
